World's most beautiful beaches

Summer, sun, vacation...and offcourse beautiful beaches... Here is the list of some beautiful beaches...

Horseshoe Bay

Horseshoe Bay is definitely the most popular and arguably the most beautiful of Bermuda’s beaches. Unsurprisingly its pink sands are shaped like a horseshoe. It also boasts more facilities than any other public beach in Bermuda.

The Horseshoe Bay Beach House serves cold drinks, hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream and other light refreshments. There’s also a concession that rents snorkelling equipment, beach chairs and umbrellas, and a small shop that sells towels, t-shirts, hats and suncream. The beach also boasts good toilet and changing facilities. The showers are very useful for cleaning all that sand and salt water from your bodily crevices; meaning that you don’t have to return to your hotel before going for lunch or dinner.

Despite its often calm appearance, the water’s surface hides dangerous rip currents. This is one of the reasons why lifeguards are on duty here (10:00 – 18:00, May 1 – Oct 31). Another is the Portuguese man-of-war which sometimes makes an unwelcomeappearance.

As mentioned previously, Horseshoe Bay can get extremely crowded. If you fancy a break from the crowds make for the small cove at the western end of the beach. The waters are shallow and sheltered, making it an ideal spot for children.

Access to Horseshoe Bay is from Horseshoe Road, off South Road and opposite the Tio Pepe restaurant (a good spot to eat for something more substantial than the beach cafĂ©). There’s also a bus stop at the entrance. At the end of Horseshoe Road there’s a parking lot with plenty of space for both cars and scooters.

Fernando de Noronha

What does Fernando de Noronha remind you of, this very unusual place? The Cliffs of Dover? Jurassic Park? The Volcanic Formations of the Hawaiian Coast? A Tropical Paradise? The Land That Time Forgot? These are just a few of the descriptions uttered by those who have been lucky enough to visit this very special place. But, the best description of all is - A place like you've never seen before !

200 miles off the northeastern coast of Brazil lies a mountainous archipelago made up of 21 islands, the National Marine Sanctuary of Fernando de Noronha. With its crystal-clear water and rich marine life, the archipelago is a heavenly retreat for underwater pleasures.

The main island is sparsely populated, only 1500 inhabitants, and is an extinct volcanic cone. The island-mountain is part of the mid-Atlantic ridge, an underwater mountain chain which is over 15,000 km long. In the 1500s, the Portugese claimed Fernando de Noronha and built a fortress here. Only the ruins of the fortress remain today for you to explore and in many ways the islands are still the way they were in the 1500s, untouched and exciting.

The dive sites include shipwrecks, caverns, amazing volcanic rock and coral formations, wild dolphins, an array of reef sharks, turtles - big ones!, schooling baracudas and all kinds of rays, schooling fish of every kind and color.

Did we mention dolphins? Dolphins on every dive? That's right! and you will get the chance to snorkle and play in the water with over 600 at one time. Every day between 2 and 3pm, a pod of over 600 spinner dolphins leaves the Bay of Dolphins to hunt and then they return at about 5am the next day. This is the oldest and largest residential school of dolphins on earth.

You can swim with the juvenile sharks at Lage dos Dies Irmaos. Of the 14 species of sharks in the area, the gray reef sharks have seemingly found and claimed a protected feeding ground and breeding area.

Witness the release of turtles into the wild. There is a protected beach which is the feeding and breeding area for hawksbill and green turtles, which the government is trying to preserve.

Dive the Corvete, a sunken Portugese frigate in pristine condition. And much, much, more.

While visiting Noronha, you will stay in Pousadas - small family owned accommodations where you will experience the lifestyle and warmth of the island's people. Most meals are prepared by "the lady of the house" and enjoyed family-style. Comfortable sleeping arrangements and warm water showers are the norm, however, you will find no five star hotels on Noronha and may wake to find cows or goats in your front yard.

A truly special place for divers, You've never seen anything like it before ! Average visibility is 30 meters. Prolific marine life is found - pelagics such as tuna, jack, albacore, barracuda and others. Benthics such as gigantic jewfishes, groupers and snappers.

It can be visited any time of the year. Temperatures are always warm and mild (26 C. or 79 F.), with a gentle breeze. The rainy season, Feb. - July, is also when the island is the most beautiful. From Dec. - Feb. the waves are huge and are perfect for surfing. The rest of the year is excellent for diving and snorkeling.

Khao Lak Beach

Khao Lak, located just north of Phuket Island on the gorgeous Andaman seaboard, is one of Thailand's most peaceful resort destinations. No less than three national parks are embraced by the surrounding hills that sweep down to this lovely stretch of coastline with beaches that go on for miles.

Khao Lak offers a rare oasis for relaxation, with a superb combination of cool tropical forest, lovely beachfront accommodation and expansive white sand beaches. And those beaches are more beautiful than ever.

Following the tsunami, Khao Lak has made a remarkable recovery with newly refurbished hotels providing a quantity and quality of accommodation never before seen in this area. Revitalised resorts have upgraded their facilities, created more stylish rooms and added ambient features like soothing lotus ponds, serene gardens and infinity pools.

Inland, the forested slopes beckon with nature tours including activities like rafting, elephant trekking and hiking to temple caves. Giant tropical trees and sparkling waterfalls provide a home to many species of wildlife and exotic birds in this surprising and beautiful place.

Khao Lak is more than just a holiday destination – it’s an inspiration. Travel here and see.

Poipu Beach

Once the secret of knowledgeable Hawaiian travelers, Poipu Beach is Kauai's premier resort destination and with good reason! Its year around sunny weather, cool trade winds, white sandy beaches and clear blue waters make Poipu Beach picture perfect. Poipu's exquisite natural beauty and abundance of outdoor recreation is only surpassed by its luxurious amenities. Besides a wide range of Kauai resort accommodations, Poipu is home to two golf courses, charming island boutiques and some of Kauai's finest restaurants.

Poipu Beach, Kauai is an easy 14-mile drive (25-30 minutes) from the Lihue airport. The Poipu Beach resort area encompasses a little over three miles of coastline. Poipu Beach is ideally located nearly midway along Kauai's scenic around-the-island highway, making it a perfect base from which to explore the island's most popular attractions. These include the incredible Na Pali Coast, Polihale Beach, Koke'e Mountain Park, the Waimea Canyon (Grand Canyon of the South Pacific) and Port Allen Harbor the launch site for many Na Pali and Niihau expeditions.

Protected by offshore reefs teeming with colorful fish, Poipu Beach is fringed with crescent shaped and sandy beaches, each with their own unique attributes.

Matira Beach, French Polynesia

Matira Beach is one of the best beaches in South Pacific, beginning at the famous resort Hotel Bora Bora, and going around the south of the island [Matira Point], then continuing 2 miles [3kms] to the Club Med. There are a few more resorts along this beach. The island is beautifully situated in the middle of a lagoon protected by a coral reef, with sea as gentle and warm as a bath tub.
Bora Bora is popular and touristy so don't expect any local culture there.
The best time to be there is in the cool, dry season May-Oct, but it's best to avoid July-Aug, the busiest time. There are two daily, expensive flights from/to ghastly Papeete [Tahiti].

Maroma Beach (Playa Maroma)

Quite possibly the most exquisite secret in Mexico, Maroma Beach is a resort hideaway intent on preserving the ecology of its 500-plus acres of beach and rain forest, all the while bringing individual service and luxury to unprecedented heights. Maroma is nestled into the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula and lies a mere 30 miles south of Cancun, but thankfully, remains worlds away from this spring break hot spot's pace and lifestyle. Maroma's guests are immersed in a quiet world of warm azure waters, pure white sands and rich tropical foliage. This miniature Eden of stucco huts and thatched roofs, beachside serenades and sunset cruises, will rejuvenate both body and spirit.

Pink Sands Beach

One of the smaller islands in the Bahamas is Harbour Island that has three miles of entirely pink sand with gentle water is the main attraction of Pink Sand Beach. It is second most famous in the world. It has natural beauty that you will never forget. You will love to swim here as it is ideal place as it has warm and calm water to enjoy throughout the year. Generally at other places there is rolling waves but here such waves have been protected against by the coral reef. In a quite peaceful atmosphere, tourists mingle with each other in a friendly manner and relaxed.

You can enjoy sand, sea and nature all over the island which will have a tranquilizing effect on you. Tourists really feel comfortable here. Private hotels offer privacy in tropical hideaways to vacation in luxury.
